Hello! Thank you for visiting my shop! Please read this before placing an order.

Most everything you will find here was grown in my backyard garden. None of the plants I grow have been isolated. Cross pollination and unintentional hybrids are possible. Bees and other pollinators are present in my garden. Please keep that in mind before ordering from me.
​
There are roughly 10 seeds per pack. Most times you will find more. For a small handful of varieties it may be a bit less. It largely depends on how well the plant did this season and how many total seeds there are to offer.
​
Mattapeño seeds are automatically included for FREE with every order over $25 (before shipping).
​
Shipping is USA only.
​
Orders over $25 ship for free in a padded greeting card. There is no tracking and no room for extras.
​
Tracked shipping is free for orders over $50. You will receive a bubble mailer, a tracking number, and there is room for extras.
​
Possible extras at the moment are Matt's Peppers coloring books (with artwork from Christian Candra), mini Grumpensteins from Grumpenstein 3D, and Matt's Peppers koozies.
To-go packets of pepper flakes from Flatiron Pepper Co. will also be included with every bubble mailer order.
Matt's Peppers hot sauce packets are also available, but you will need to request them in the notes at checkout. I will put them in their own separate ziplock, as there is an off chance of them breaking open during shipping. Just mention that you'd like one, but please be aware there could be a possible mess to clean up.

I also send a picture of every order before it heads out the door so you know exactly what to expect to receive. Orders typically ship within 5 business days. This will take longer during opening day and holidays.

I discovered the Mattapeño when I was working at a commercial greenhouse many years ago. I found a jalapeño with variegated leaves and knew it was something unique, as we were not growing any variegated peppers that year. I took it home and spent years growing out subsequent generations until I had a beautiful, white-leaved, purple-stemmed, heavily variegated jalapeño with stripes on the peppers!
The Mattapeño is unlike any other jalapeño pepper you have grown. I have taken great care to foster the unique genetics and have created dozens of new peppers by crossing the Mattapeño with other rare chili peppers over the last few years.
